| Background | HT-29 cells were isolated from primary tumors by J. Fogh in 1964 using a transplant culture method and F12 medium containing 15%FBS. Recently, cultured cells of established strains were cultured with McCoy's5A culture solution containing the same serum. HT-29 cells are tumorigenic in nude mice and also in steroid-treated gophers. HT-29 cells synthesize IgA, CEA, protein binding TGF-β secretory components and mucin. |
