Use and synthesis method:
For biochemical research. An antimicrobial agent. Flufenicol inhibits peptide acyltransferase primarily by competitively binding to the 50S subunit on bacterial 70S ribosomes, thereby inhibiting peptide chain extension and interfering with bacterial protein synthesis.
